I began making videos in 1989, while living in Patzcuaro, Michoacan, Mexico, where I worked as an Agronomist, assisting Purepecha Indian campesinos with agricultural projects. I began documenting some of the indigenous festivities of the region, eventually starting a small event videography business. After two years of capturing local rodeos, weddings and beauty pageants, I moved to San Francisco in 1991 to further hone my skills in professional videography. In 1997, I founded InterCultura Bilingual Media (now InterCultura Multilingual Media), a production company specializing in video, voice-over and translation services in all languages.

My personal emphasis as a videographer and producer is on educational works with a creative edge. In addition to directing, I enjoy working with the camera to produce beautiful and compelling images that help bring out the unique character of my subjects. I have a keen interest in discovering the hidden side to every story and especially appreciate the opportunity to collaborate on projects that promote cultural diversity and explore the complexities of our multicultural society.
